Dr Gerry Fahy is a Consultant Cardiologist/Electrophysiologist at Cork University Hospital. He was Assistant Professor of Medicine at Department of Cardiology, Section of Electrophysiology, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis MN., US, from 1996 to 2000 and prior to this was cardiac electrophysiology fellow at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio, US from 1993 to 1996. His special interests in cardiology include ablation and device therapy for treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
Dr. Ronan Curtin
Dr. Ronan Curtin is a consultant cardiologist at Cork University Hospital. He is a graduate of University College Cork and completed his Higher Specialist Training in Cardiology in Ireland, followed by an Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship in Cleveland Clinic, USA. During his training years, he completed a Masters Degree in Cardiology (Trinity College, Dublin) and a Medical Doctorate (Royal College of Surgeons) on the topic of resistance to antiplatelet drugs. He was the recipient of a Young Investigator Award from the European Society of Cardiology in 2003. He went on faculty in the section of Cardiovascular Imaging, Cleveland Clinic in 2007, before returning to Ireland and Cork University Hospital in 2009. His special interests in Cardiology include cardiac imaging, valvular heart disease and heart failure.
Dr David Curran
Dr. David Curran is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Mercy University Hospital, Cork. He is a graduate of University College Cork. He completed the Higher Specialist Training Programme in Respiratory Medicine in Ireland during which time he undertook a 2 year research project culminating in an MD degree. He pursued further clinical training and research at the Yale School of Medicine, Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine before returning to Cork to take up his current position in 2009.
His areas of clinical interest include obstructive sleep apnoea, non-invasive ventilation, asthma and COPD. He is a member of the Irish Sleep Society, European Sleep Research Society and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He is currently the co-National Specialty Director for the Higher Specialist Training Programme in Respiratory Medicine.
Dr. Keith Morrice
Dr Morrice brings a significant amount of Cardiology & Electrophysiology expertise and experience to AMS. He currently works as a Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist at the Bons Secours Hospital in Cork. Prior to this he was appointed as an Electrophysiology Fellow at the renowned OLV Hospital, Aalst, Belgium. Dr Morrice attained his MB BCh BAO at Queens University Belfast, RCPE Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh and MD at Queens University Belfast.
Prior to his appointment at the OLV Hospital Aalst, Belgium Dr Morrice worked for many years in the specialty of cardiology in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast City Hospital and Mater Hospital Dublin. Dr Morrice’s MD research project looked into cardiac biomarkers in myocardial infarction and in percutaneous coronary intervention. Dr Morrice has published widely including the areas of pacing and STEMI and he has a keen interest in audit, research and education. Dr Morrice is also attached to UCC in the capacity of Senior Clinical lecturer.
Dr Morrice treats patients displaying symptoms of various cardiac arrhythmias; atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, atrial tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia etc. In addition, Dr Morrice also undertakes cardiac interventions such as ablation, insertion of pacemakers and insertion of ICDs in the specially commissioned catheterisation laboratory at the Bons Secours Hospital in Cork.
Dr. Sean Esmonde
Dr. Sean Esmonde is a consultant cardiologist specialising in electrophysiology and cardiac devices.
He completed his cardiology specialty training in Northern Ireland. Sean initially completed his degree and initial medical training in Manchester, England.
Following this, he gained a fellowship sub-specialising in electrophysiology and cardio-genetics in Mater Misercordiae University Hospital, Dublin. Here, he worked in the Family Heart Screening Clinic before taking up a consultant post in MMUH, Dublin. Dr Esmonde also holds a consultant post in the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
Prof. Mark Walsh
Professor Walsh is a cardiologist with an interest in electrophysiology and inherited cardiac conditions. He trained in cardiology in Toronto and did his electrophysiology training in Cincinnati. After spending 6 years as a consultant in Bristol, Mark is now based in Dublin.
In addition to his post at CHI Crumlin and the Mater Hospital, Professor Walsh is also available in Blackrock Clinic on a regular basis to see patients for all types of ablations. Given his interest in sport, he is also interested in screening athletes for any conditions that may predispose to sudden arrhythmic death syndrome. Prof Walsh will support AMS with paediatric patients requiring further investigations from its cardiac screening service. In his personal time, Mark has a keen interest in tennis, rugby and mountain biking.
Dr. Edmond J Donovan
Dr Edmond Donovan graduated from UCC in 1973. He currently practices out of two locations (Douglas & Camden Place). He is doctor to Cope Foundation, Eircom & An Post in Cork.
Jackie Murnane
Jackie joined AMS in January 2012. Her qualifications include a BSc in Health and Fitness, MSc in Nutritional Science and a Diploma in Medical Administration. Before Jackie joined AMS she worked in the area of research which focused on hypertension and lowering it through dietary means. She has also worked in the area of healthy eating amongst children in primary schools. Jackie is involved in many aspects of the Office Management of AMS. This includes but not limited to Finance, Statistics, Result processing/administration and Project planning & management. Jackie is also the Product Owner of the AMS Screening Software Platform, which involves identifying and prioritizing new feature development on the system.
Philip Neville
Philip joined the AMS Sales team in May 2013. Since then, he has developed and managed our club and schools screening programmes nationwide. Philip enjoys all sports and is a keen tennis player. He holds a BSc from UCC & DBS from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business.
Jenny Donovan
Jenny has a degree in Psychology & Geography from University College Cork along with a H.dip and a Master of Business degree in Management from the Smurfit School of Business.
Jenny has worked in Healthcare for over 12 years, working initially for Pfizer Healthcare as a Medical Representative specialising in the area of Respiratory and Cardiovascular health. She Joined AMS in 2014 as Relationship Manager for health screening programmes for both corporate and government agencies. She has extensive experience and proven ability in the delivery and implementation of large-scale health screening programmes nationally.
Jenny has developed great relationships with our partners, playing an important role in helping to build and empower a healthy workforce. She sets the standard for quality and delivering tailor-made health screening solutions to our corporate clients.
Jenny is passionate about Health & Wellness and brings this enthusiasm to her current role as Relationship Manager within AMS.
