Kern left Ireland in 2013 to play football and to study college in America. He spent two years at Genesee Community College, Batavia, New York, before transferring to Brigham Young University Hawaii to complete a BSc in Biology and to finish his football career with the Division 2 NCAA BYU Seasiders.
Returning to Ireland, Kern joined Advanced Medical Services continuing a family history of health care. Kern’s mother was a nurse and an aid worker before completing her doctorate in community healthcare and now does much work for the homeless and refugees in Ireland. While Kern’s dad being a long serving medical doctor, moved into the career path of the charity ‘Save the Children’ and has had a long serving career working all around the world.
Kern hopes that he can utilize the skills that he has learned from his family and his travels to influence and implement an all-encompassing healthier lifestyle for himself and the people he meets.
